If you were a ninja, and had to carry, like, some extra nunchucks and stuff, this might be your bag. When you're packing for a trip, do you look like an MMA fighter kneeling on your opponent's shoulders, "ground 'n' pounding" their face as you stuff everything you own into that one big sack? If you don't want a million pockets to organize your stuff -- you just want a big ol' bag that'll take a George St. Pierre style beating -- check out the [ak] 80L Duffel.

WHAT IT IS:
An expedition-grade, large volume bag: unadorned and uncomplicated, just like GSP. At 31 x 18.5 x 17 inches and 80 liters capacity, it's huge. "Honestly, you could probably fit a person in there," says Burton's Sharon Herbert, Product Manager Bags and Luggage. This Duffel has been in the [ak] line for three years and grew out of an older bag, the Hog Duffel, that was a favorite of Jake's. "When you're going into the backcountry and packing everyone's gear into the helicopter, it's easier to have one large duffel to fit everything (multiple rider's packs, shovels, probes, etc.)," says Herbert. That's nice and all, but even if the only helis you see are the "ghetto birds" that buzz your apartment every night, this duffel still makes for a great all-around go-to bag.
WHY IT RULES:
The True Black version looks like something the guys from "The Unit" or a black ops SWAT team might use to transport night-vision goggles and snap-down Sig assault rifles. Construction-wise, the bag's made of 1000D PVC tarpaulin and 420 High-Density Nylon and has rubber handles that are easy to negotiate when you're wearing gloves and it's minus a million outside. "It handles cold weather really well and is resistant to sharp objects you pack for the backcountry, such as poles and shovels which could easily rip through more basic fabrics," explains Herbert.
A removable shoulder strap gives you carrying options while neoprene "cram zones" around the zipper mean you can pick up some sketchy extras on your next trip and still find room for them on the ride home. Internal and external zippered accessory pockets give you enough organization to show up to the next junk show without being one yourself.
